Come and visit this eco-museum that contains a host of information on farming and rural life in the region. Both introductory and in-depth knowledge on ancient farming techniques and a rich collection of antique farming equipment.

Maison des Mineurs de la Châtaigneraie
Museum of Mining in the Châtaigneraie with an exhibition-show retracing the history of wolfram production. A miner's daughter recounts 50 years in the life of certain mining villages in the Châtaigneraie, through models, photos, and objects… (CD and postcards on sale).

Guided tour of the old walnut oil and cider press mills, moulin à manège (mill with a horizontal rotating table), an exceptional lever and screw press, salt mill, etc.… All the mills date from 1830. Exhibition of ancient woodworking tools and rope-makers drums.

SALERS
The Salers Burons
Visit the burons (stone-built mountain dwellings) in Salers and discover the secrets of the local cheeses made with milk from cows fed on summer pastures, the legendary Salers beef and an exhibition on Salers gentiane, plus the tools used by the buronniers (cheese-makers) and the gençanaïres (gentiane producers). Buronnier-style meals are served at midday in July and August.

Between Rocamadour and the Cantal Mountains, in the middle of the Haut-Quercy and of the Limousine Xaintrie, belonging to the Chestnut territory of the Auvergne, the “Maison des Frères Cazes” greets you in Siran Entering you will discover an exceptional collection of accordions, hurdy-gurdies and “Cabrettes” along with rare and surprising musical instruments like the musical boxes true precursors of the juke-box. They will reveal also stories about a country, its traditions and customs. that music goes on evolving and people of different ages and of different origins are still unified around accordion.
